Meet Tracy Peterson
EOWD Founder, Autism Mama & Caregiver
Hello, World! My name is Tracy Peterson, and I am a parent and caregiver of an adult nonverbal person on the autism spectrum and founder of Exploring Our World Differently (EOWD), which began as a family mantra many years ago.
All these years later, I am coming to terms with my own neurodivergence and figuring out my place on the spectrum.
When I am not developing EOWD, caregiving, or working part-time as a recruiter, I enjoy hiking, camping, reading, gardening, and working in the yard. Nothing makes me happier, however, than sharing a cup of coffee with my husband, Ted, and gathering with family and friends to sit, talk, and enjoy time together around the firepit.
Why Tracy Shares Her Voice
Tracy shares her voice not because she believes her family’s experience represents every autism journey, but because she knows how isolating that journey can sometimes feel. Through honest reflections shaped by more than three decades of parenting and caregiving, she explores the lessons, questions, challenges, and meaningful moments that have influenced her understanding of autism, communication, acceptance, and family life. By sharing what she has lived and learned, Tracy hopes others will feel understood, encouraged, and a little less alone.
