Navigating the complexities of both work and family life, particularly a family life with special needs, can be challenging. As a parent to a non-verbal person on the autism spectrum, I had to be creative in finding ways to earn a legitimate income to help support my family while being available to care for my family. This unique experience has shaped my career path in remarkable ways.
My journey began with leveraging my experience in retail to find flexible roles that included merchandising and mystery shopping. These roles naturally evolved into scheduling, sourcing, and eventually recruiting. Through this process, I discovered the power of remote work and its ability to provide flexibility and stability.
I began my hybrid remote endeavors in 2006 and transitioned to fully remote work in 2012. Over the years, I have learned the most effective and efficient means of earning an income remotely. Today, I aim to help others—whether you are a work-from-home parent, a new entrepreneur, a small business owner, or an autism parent—navigate your career path and find success, regardless of unique circumstances.
After a company in restructure that led to yet another layoff, I chose to create my LLC, EOWD Recruiting, not only because recruiting is what I do and love but also because it enables me to represent and share the lifestyle, causes, and opportunities that helped me to grow as an individual while meeting our family needs. While not all roles we are currently recruiting will be remote, in a world where work-from-home and flexible opportunities are more abundant than ever, I want to empower you throughout our journey as we explore our world differently and unlock the potential of career opportunities for those who seek it.
